How long is your maintenance season?
We start spring clean-ups in March/April, depending on the
weather and we end service at the end of November or until
the snow sticks.
Is bush/hedge trimming included?
We charge separately for trimming bushes depending on the
quantity and size of your shrubs. We try to keep them in
their natural shape unless their current shape dictates
otherwise.
You offer complimentary pre-emergent for my planting
beds? What’s that?
Pre-emergent is a granular product that prevents seeds from
germinating. It helps to prevent weeds from growing where
you don’t want them. It won’t affect any plant that has
roots or bulbs. We offer it for free to our maintenance
customers so that we don’t have to pull so many weeds.
Do you pull weeds?
Yes, the common ones. If we’re not sure, we don’t pull it.
We may also periodically spray your weeds with Round-up,
unless asked not to.
What kind of fertilizer do you use?
We use a slow release, granular fertilizer that is suited
for our current growing conditions. It needs to be watered
to become activated. Applied regularly, your lawn will be
thick and lush. A healthy lawn is more drought tolerant and
actually prevents most weeds from growing.
What about herbicides?
We use a liquid broadleaf weed spray for all turf areas. It
affects only broadleaf weeds, not weedy grasses. To work
effectively, it needs to dry onto the weed so please don’t
water for 24 hours or more. We don’t spray on days when the
temperature is over 80, the wind is over 10 mph or rain is
forecast. And it’s best not to walk on your turf while the
product is wet.
Do you aerate lawns?
We offer core aeration in the spring and the fall. The plugs
that are removed stay on the turf and will dissolve back
into your soil after a few rainfalls. If you have a
sprinkler system or invisible fence, we will ask you to mark
the heads or fence line with flags or spray paint (any color
except green, please).
What can be done about my insect problem?
We offer a grub control application as part of our regular
maintenance program. It’s a preventative product that’s
applied in June or July, depending on the temperature. Other
insect problems can be treated with different products,
depending on the insect.
Why is my lawn dying in spots?
Usually when a lawn turns brown in irregular patches, it’s
caused by an insect infestation or a fungus. We can treat
the insect problem, but usually don’t recommend fungicides.
The best cure for fungus is to change the environment that’s
causing the fungus. The number one cause is excessive
moisture, so wait for the humidity to drop or try not to
water in the evening.
Do your men speak English?
Yes. The foreman on every crew speaks English as do our
office staff and supervisors.
Do you plow snow?
We offer snow removal for commercial and industrial accounts
only.

How do you price your services?
We provide a monthly rate for mowing services. Depending on
the day of the week that you are scheduled, you may receive
4 or 5 visits in a month. If your service starts or ends in
the middle of a month, your bill will be prorated. Budgeting
is easy since the price is the same every month.
How do you bill for your services?
We bill two different ways: You have the option to prepay
for your services and receive a discount until April 30, or
pay at the end of the month as services are performed.
What does a Spring or Fall Clean-up cost?
If you are a weekly maintenance customer, we typically
include it with your April and November service. If you just
want a clean-up, please call us for a price.
What are your payment terms?
All payments are due 10 days from the invoice date.
Do you accept credit cards?
We sure do: Visa, MasterCard and Discover. We will charge
your card on the due date every month if you arrange for
this service.
Can I cancel my service if I’m moving or no longer need
your service?
Of course you can. Please let us know when you’d like to
schedule your final day.
Do you offer a referral incentive?
Yes. If you recommend us to your family, friends or
neighbors, we give you an in-house credit. The credit varies
depending on the value of the work to be performed.

My yard is overgrown/outdated. What can I do?
Simple. Call us to schedule an appointment to have one of
our designers meet with you. We can help you design a yard
that compliments your family, activities and lifestyle. We
design with your needs and budget in mind.
I want to redo my whole yard. How can I do it affordably?
Most of our customers do their landscaping in phases over
several years as the budget allows. Start with the area that
will make the biggest difference to you: front yard for curb
appeal or back yard for private enjoyment.
My home is for sale. What can I do for instant curb
appeal?
The simplest things to do are: mow the lawn, pull the weeds,
edge the beds, trim the shrubs and put down a fresh layer of
mulch. A well maintained exterior will give the impression
of a well maintained interior.
I love waterfalls, but what about the maintenance?
Ponds with waterfalls are a perennial favorite. Still, some
people prefer not to have a pond whether for safety reasons,
algae control or general maintenance. We can create
beautiful pondless waterfalls that provide the same
beautiful sounds with no pond maintenance. |
